I’ve made bad choices that brought me to prison for the first time. I’ve been locked up since 2017, and still have another 12 months to go.
During my life, I put God away. I know no one in prison, and I had no money for long distance calls to call my family or kids. I became depressed to the point of being suicidal — until I was given a Bible.
It took me a while to open it and start reading. Then, a friend I met in prison introduced me to Bible study. I asked God to come into my life, and bring me into His.
I was praying for a shorter sentence. It never came, but I realized that God is with me. It’s been 14 months since they locked me up, but after I started believing in God, my days changed.
They used to be long — very long — and depressing. Now, I find they go by quickly. I wish I could have four or five Crossroads lessons at a time. I love doing Bible studies!
I am a different person now. God is helping me. Thank you God.
